A Man, A Mule and A Mountain of Trouble
Attempted Mob Hit + Escape to Dude Ranch = Romance Adventure

She is a quiet caretaker of plants in Seattle who witnesses a judge being shot.
He is an FBI agent intent on bringing a renowned crime gang to justice.
With a calculated coincidence their paths intertwine on a mountain in Montana. Together they formulate a plan to bring the mobsters to justice who attempted to murder her friend and have kidnapped his parents.
Sum it up with a smart mule, a hidden cabin, some outdoor scenes and the answer is a modern day adventure ready for readers.

"She was shocked at what had happened and was also starting to feel light headed. She noticed Red seemed to be heading towards a small clearing. It was a huge effort to raise her head enough to look ahead. She finally rested her head on his shoulder and took a deep breath. Her side was throbbing and she hardly had the strength to keep the shirt bunched up at the place where the blood felt warm.
Miranda?s last thought was that she was going to die like a real cowgirl; on a mountain, with a mule, from a gunshot wound.
Chapter 7
Grant headed steadily up Mt. Hanlen on Brasso with two pack horses, Molly and Cody, following steadily behind him. He was traveling at a slow but steady pace, and as far as he could remember should make the cabin just after dark. He really loved being out in the clean country air. The last week had been stressful since his parent?s accident and he needed this outing to clear his head. He looked down at his hand on the reins and realized how simple things could be when you weren?t dealing with life in a city, criminals and rushing to a myriad of urgent meetings.
?Hee Haw!? Grant was just rounding a bend when he heard the distinct and determined bray from a mule coming from the other side of the bushes to his left. He stopped the horses and carefully listened. The mule brayed louder, apparently closer and soon he could see the animal picking his way towards him through the trees and bushes. It was saddled but rider less and looked agitated. The mule stopped a few feet off of the trail and made the most commanding and compelling noise he had ever heard from an animal. ?Hee Haww!? The mule backed up staring Grant in the eye and moving his head as if to signal Grant to follow him.
?OK, big guy, sounds like you want me to come with you. Hold up just a second and I?ll tie up my horses.? With that Grant tied his mounts securely to a tree and moved off the trail on foot towards the mule. With glaring reality Grant saw the blood on the side of the saddle and a dark blotchy streak of it flowing onto the mule?s belly.
He stepped up his pace to keep up with the mule and soon saw a blue patch of clothing not too far ahead. As he moved closer he saw it was a woman curled up on her side. A large grassy area next to her was flattened out and warm to the touch as he kneeled down. He figured the mule must have been trying to protect her from the cold of the evening by lying down beside her. Thank God the big animal had big ears and had heard him on the trail. She was pale and desperately needed his help."

A Break, A Beaker and A Bond of Trust
The Doctor Is In:  Great Shape, Imminent Danger and Emotional Pain

Italian doctor Gianni Lando has created BoneGlu to speed the healing of broken bones. Fatefully, his first human patient is the alluring Annelise Carlisle and he could be responsible for the accident causing her injury.
Annelise was dumped by a fiancé and failed a job interview, so what else could go wrong? Maybe working for Gianni and battling wits against a jealous killer intent on securing the formula for BoneGlu! Can the pair complete his seminars and acknowledge their love before the fatal blow is struck?
"She felt the gritty road under her cheek and tried to take steady breaths. In a moment a voice was just above her ear instructing her to stay still. She knew without looking it was Doctor Handsome. His liquid black velvet voice had a noticeable Italian accent. His hand was firm but gentle, his touch reassuring.
Gianni kneeled by the woman?s body, ?Stay down just as you are Bella Donna, we have called an ambulance. I am a doctor. The baby that you pushed from danger is fine. You are a very brave woman and I am here to help you in any way that I can. Please tell me if you can, what hurts.?
Annelise relaxed a little against the warm hands that were supporting her back. For some reason she felt safe. Should she start the hurt list with her leg, her ego or her broken heart? ?I think I broke my fibula, doctor. I heard it crack when I connected with the car. I may have bruised a rib or two, but other than that I?m feeling just dandy.?
The doctor rocked back a bit to readjust his position and asked, ?Are you a doctor, too??
Annelise pulled it together enough to explain, ?No, but my father is and I put myself through college in various positions of employment in his office. What type of doctor are you, Signore??
?I am a research scientist with a background in orthopedics. I have developed and just gotten approval for BoneGlu that I am presenting to all of the major hospitals on the West Coast. Seattle was my first stop. If we can get you to Seattle General, you are willing to try something new, and your break is not complicated, I can halve the time of the recovery of this injury.? As he spoke he carefully and gently moved his fingers over her injured leg.
